Rested up the Acolytes continued onwards. Thoth elected to remain behind with Sabertooth and guard against any further attacks from spiders or ants. Once again scouting ahead, Beast Boy returned to inform the group that they had found the King of the Mites: King Zuuga however he was guarded by two one-legged, one-armed abominations. Not hesitating the group quickly engaged in combat. Before he could even reach the combat, the Fachens had paralyzed Beast Boy with fear and Deathstroke soon followed suit. The other thankfully remained unaffected by the Fachens mind-numbing affects and were able to subdue the abominations before quickly stomping out the poor king of the mites. Harald took his crown as a prize; a lone Bracer of Armor +2, useless without its companions.
Finding a secret passageway the Acolytes went down the walkway to encounter four giant spiders protecting twelve mites. Unable to contain themselves at the sight of such pitiful prey, the Acolytes laid further waste to what used to be King Zuuga’s domain. Harald in particular took much pleasure as he cleaved his way through the opposing mites.
The group surged on with renewed vigor into even further depths of the Crow. Encountering a strange cell-like prison block, scuttling could be heard down the hallways. The group was soon surrounded by six giant crab spiders. Maggot and Harald got hungry looks in their eyes as they slashed and cleaved their way through the opponents. Rogue, Deathstroke, and Beast Boy threw in punches where they could. The next room however set the group on edge; it was a torture chamber. The Acolytes could almost sense the screams of prisoners coming from the cells. Then two of the screams seemed WAY to real.
Out of the dark corners of the room emerged two aberrations: Wrathspawn. These horror-inducing ghouls were swiftly dealt with as if they were paper tigers before a storm by the deranged group of Acolytes. Feeling confident the group entered into a large room with a large stone sphinx. Having entered the room and sensed no danger the group went to leave, in doing so activating the magic trap and bringing the sphinx to life. The sphinx charged straight at Beast Boy landing a successful hit against him however Beast Boy quickly used his Acrobatic skills to dodge before the damage could land and avoided the sphinx’s follow up in the process. In unison the group quickly flanked the sphinx and began to attack mercilessly. Cornered, the sphinx cast Symbol of Pain racking the Acolytes with immense pain and making it difficult for them to function. This alone wasn’t enough to deter Harald from dealing the final blow to the mighty creature. Looking in the corner of the room where the sphinx had laid, the Acolytes discovered a silver statue of a sphinx similar to one they had seen earlier and added it to their treasure horde. Worn out from their battle the Acolytes rested up. It seemed like nothing could put a dent in these dangerous adventurers…
